VANDA DAY Artist and Illustrator

I live in a village near Melton Mowbray in the Vale of Belvoir, with my husband and children. Not forgetting our dog Toffee.

I have been drawing and painting all my life. My first portrait commission was of my babysitter when I was six years old. I was paid with sweets and praise!

A prize on a Blue Peter competition was next, followed by numerous successful entries in art competitions as I grew up.

After art college, I worked as an artist in a greeting card studio followed by a position at a commercial art studio carrying out work for high profile companies and organisations.

Following this, marriage and raising a family took more of my time. But I still took on commissions. Now our children are all but grown up, I am focussing again on my art work.
